Silver Slipper Casino’s Flynn Takes Top Culinary Honors
Hancock County – July 6, 2010 – Chef Collin Flynn, took Gold and Bronze medals in the MS Gulf Coast American Culinary Federation’s 14th Annual Culinary Classic, held June 27th in Biloxi, MS. Flynn, who serves as Chef for Silver Slipper Casino’s fine dining restaurant, Blue Bayou Bar and Grill, won a Gold Medal in the Seafood Category for his Seared Tuna with Purple Potato Salad and Cucumber Salad, and a Bronze for Blue Bayou’s Crab and Avocado Salad. The dishes were judged on appearance, taste, complexity, originality and professionalism. “We’re very proud of Collin,” said John N. Ferrucci, COO and General Manager for Silver Slipper Casino. “We’ve always known what a great chef he is and now the entire Gulf Coast knows. We’re proud to feature his culinary talents in our Blue Bayou Bar and Grill.”
The Annual Culinary Classic competition is sanctioned by the American Culinary Federation. Chefs from throughout the Coast vie for top honors during the annual competition including “Best of Show.” Funds raised during the event help fund the MS Gulf Chapter’s work with the ACFEF Chef and Child Foundation which teaches children the benefits of healthy eating, and supports members and their associates in education and competition endeavors.
