Silver Slipper Casino Announces 2010 Employee and Supervisor
of the Year

Hancock County – January 19, 2011 - On Monday, January 10th, Silver Slipper Casino management and executives announced the Slipper’s 2010 Employee and Supervisor of the Year. During a private dinner held in the Slipper’s Blue Bayou Bar & Grill, John Ferrucci, COO and General Manager for Silver Slipper Casino announced Jason Moak as the 2010 Employee of the Year and Dawn Shiyou as the 2010 Supervisor/Manager of the Year. Before announcing the winners, Ferrucci told all nominees and their families, “I thank each of you for doing what you do. Without you, Silver Slipper would not exist.”
Danielle Strong, Director of Human Resources, presented both winners with an engraved crystal Slipper, $500 cash, a weeks paid vacation and a world travel voucher valued at $2,000.

Jason Moak, Lead Slot Technician, has been with the Slipper since September 2006 when he joined the Slipper Team as Facilities Maintenance Tech.  Moak transferred two months later to the Slot Department as Slot Technician where he quickly worked his way up, was nominated for the same title in 2007, and was promoted to Lead Slot Technician in 2009. Upon receiving the recognition, Moak stated, “It is a pleasure working here at Silver Slipper and I will continue to do my best here.”

Dawn Shiyou, Supervisor for the Blue Bayou Bar & Grill, joined the Slipper Team February, 2007, as a Steakhouse Server and was promoted to Dining Room Supervisor in April, 2008. Shiyou is currently responsible for supervising all areas of the Blue Bayou Bar & Grill including Front and Back of House. She was shocked as she heard Ferrucci announce her as Supervisor of the Year and expressed her gratitude by saying, “I am so lucky to work here and I am so proud to work with such an incredible staff and Director.”

The Nominees for the Slipper’s 2010 Employee of the Year were: Andrew Zoerner – Table Games; Angi Truebner-Webb – Finance; Anne Simon – Blue Bayou Bar & Grill;  Brad Yanok – Slots; Cathy Hoover – Table Games; Clifton Senical – Table Games; Danisha Dillion – Sales; Eric Lymuel – Jubilee Buffet; Gary Barnes – Table Games; Jason Moak – Slots; Jeannie McNeill – Cage; Joe Southern – Security; Karen Sketteno –Cage; Katina Knight – Table Games; Laurie Miller – Host; Melvin Cornish – Table Games; Morgan Guidry-Purchasing; Nancy Bucklar – Surveillance; Opel Pursely –Beverage; Ramona Manieri – PBX; Richard Wink – Table Games; Ted Baker – Revenue Audit and Joey Thompson – Blue Bayou Bar & Grill.

The 2010 Nominees for Supervisor/Manager of the Year were: Aissa Wiggins – Sales Manager; Ben Crimm – Beverage Supervisor; Catherine Walton – Housekeeping Supervisor; Dawn Shiyou – Blue Bayou Bar & Grill Supervisor; Jackie Freeman – Financial Accounting Manager; Kathleen Spillman – Table Games Supervisor; Mary Pyle – Palm Court Assistant Manager; Red Winningham – Surveillance Supervisor; Sharon Broussard – Table Games Supervisor; Sheril Powell – Security Supervisor; Tom Morvant – Table Games Supervisor and Tracy Mings – Housekeeping Supervisor.

Nominees, along with their guests and Directors, were treated to a cocktail reception and dinner held in the Slipper’s Blue Bayou Bar & Grill and hosted by Human Resources and coordinated by Ellen Hoffmann, Human Resources Employment/Training Manager. During the event, Hoffmann recognized each nominee and presented them with a Silver Slipper lapel pin only worn by the Employee and Supervisor of the Year Nominees.
