Silver Slipper Casino Employees Give Back to Community
Hancock County – January 10, 2012 – Silver Slipper Casino has been committed to the area community since opening in 2006. However, the Slipper’s employees take it one step further by donating their time to area non-profit organizations, civic groups and more. “John not only encourages us to become involved with the community, he gives us the time and support to do so,” said Victoria Langlinais, Advertising and Publicity Manager for Silver Slipper Casino. Langlinais, a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, has been with the Slipper for almost three years.
Langlinais received the 2011 Saints Community Quarterback Award on January 1st during the Saints vs. Carolina Panthers game held in New Orleans. The program recognizes eight outstanding volunteers in the Gulf South Region that exhibit leadership, dedication and commitment to improving their community. Langlinais was awarded a $2,500 check for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast, Hancock County Unit for her dedication and work for the Hancock Unit. She and Silver Slipper Casino were also recognized by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast as the Clubs’ 2011 Outstanding Supporter during the Clubs’ 44th Annual Inauguration and Awards Luncheon held October 4.
“We’re very fortunate to have so many employees who serve our community,” said John N Ferrucci, COO and General Manager for Silver Slipper Casino. “Victoria, Aissa, Angie and Mike exemplify community service and leadership.”

Aissa Wiggins, Sales Manager, who has been with the Slipper for over five years, serves the Diamondhead Business and Professionals, Bay-Waveland Habitat for Humanity Board, Bay-Waveland Main Street Promotions Committee, Bridgefest Committee and is Sponsor Party Chairman, Rotary International, Leadership Hancock County Steering Committee and is a Hancock County Leadership graduate. Wiggins was recognized in 2008 as Associate of the Year by the South Central Motorcoach Association and has been nominated as one of Hancock County’s Top Ten Citizens of the Year for 2011 by the Hancock Chamber of Commerce.
Angie Kothmann, Electronic Media Marketing Manager, who is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, is a member of Hancock County Leadership Class of 2011-2012 and serves on the Excel By 5 Community Involvement Committee. She has been with the Slipper four years.
Mike Scardino, a Mississippi Gulf Coast native, has been in gaming since 1993. He joined Silver Slipper Casino in January 2011 as the Outside Casino Host/Player Development and serves as Treasurer of the Emerging Young Professionals for East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce.
Langlinais not only serves on the Hancock County Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Gulf Coast but also serves on the Board of the Bay-Waveland Main Street Association, the East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce Board and is a Board Member of 100 Men D.B.A. Hall. She is also a graduate of the Hancock County Leadership Class of 2010-2011.
