Michael Grimm Returns to Silver Slipper Casino
for Encore Performance

Hancock County – February 10, –“America’s Got Talent” 2010 Winner, Michael Grimm, will perform at Silver Slipper Casino on Sunday, February 27, at 7:00 p.m. at the Slipper’s Original Stage Bar. Grimm, a Waveland native and local favorite, took the “America’s Got Talent” title in September 2010, winning $1,000,000 and securing a recording contract with Epic Records.

Grimm, who will serve as Grand Marshal in the 44th Annual Krewe of Nereids Mardi Gras Parade in Waveland that day, was named the Christian Country Music Association’s “Star of Tomorrow” at the age of 16 for his hit song, “John Wayne and Jesus”. He attributes his talent and success to his Grandmother who took him around to the bars throughout Southern Mississippi when he was 12 years old to perform country music. It was then that Grimm’s career began to take off, and at the age of 16, he signed his first recording contract and headed to Nashville.

But when Grimm returned home from Nashville, he soon discovered Soul Music and the Blues, listening to such greats as Etta James, Otis Redding, Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin. The music felt so natural to Grimm that he quickly became a soul artist and never looked back.

In 2000, Grimm moved to Las Vegas to perform at clubs and casinos throughout the area, looking for his big break which came in June 2010 when he was selected to compete for the “America’s Got Talent” title. Grimm vowed that, if he won, he would use the money to build his grandparents a new home replacing the one they lost in Hurricane Katrina.
Since winning the title, Grimm has appeared on various television and radio shows, as well as toured around the country with the “America’s Got Talent” cast.
