Hancock County – January 15, 2008 - On Monday, January 14th, Silver Slipper casino Human Resources Director Danielle Strong and Human Resources Manager Ellen Hoffmann hosted a private dinner party at Blue Bayou Bar & Grill in celebration of Employee and Supervisor of the Year, with 27 nominees, their guests, and Directors present. Following an incredible dinner by Chef Melvin Smith and his staff, John Ferrucci announced the winners.
Back of House Winner, Susan Murray – Lead HR Coordinator. Front of House Winner – Winston Cavendish – Security Officer and Supervisor/Manager of the Year – Chad King – IT Manager. Winners received an engraved crystal slipper, $500 cash and a travel certificate valued up to $2000.

Winston Cavendish – Security. Debra Cruse & Daren Perkins – Purchasing/Receiving. Tony Harrison – Surveillance. Kate Smith – Buffet Supervisor, Chad King – IT Manager & Tarzan Treadway – Slot product Manager.
Each month Silver Slipper honors nominees for Employee of the Month and quarterly for Supervisors and above. At the end of the year these winners are eligible for the coveted title of Employee/Supervisor of the year. During his speech John Ferrucci thanked all of the nominees for their hard work and dedication to making Silver Slipper the best casino on the coast. “It is so hard to choose one of you over the other. Every nominee in this room tonight is the best of the best and you are all already winners. I am very proud to be here with all of you tonight.”
One winner was more shocked than the next. Winston Cavendish accepted his award graciously and was honored to represent the Security department. Susan Murray accepted her award on behalf of the entire HR department, saying “we are a great department and we are here for you, so please stay forever and ever!” Chad King accepted with great emotion stating that he appreciates his staff and all of the hard work they do day in and day out, and that he is so grateful to have them.
